This class is for anyone interested in understanding some simple ways to create abstraction in artworks, based on realistic landscape scenes.
Using simple studies of photographic scenes, interpret the geometry of mountains, trees, water and sky planes. Practice drawing techniques to dissect the structure lines, shapes and forms of example images to explore abstraction.
Try out colour choices, reduce or exaggerate elements, vary scale and proportion of line and shape, to energize a composition.
Study a range of artists abstract visions of nature, sourced from Art Galleries, Museums and University Art collections online.
Study the style and vision of master artists techniques in their expression of nature
Explore a range of techniques in small colour compositions
Suggested Art Supplies: Graphite pencil HB; watercolour paints helpful to include a six primary (warm/cool) colours; Cold Press Watercolour Paper 300gm / 140lb
