Explore observational drawing techniques to capture what you see in your local landscape, gardens, parks or prepare for recording botanicals on your summer travels. In this series use a watercolour sketchbook. Practice essential drawing/painting methods and techniques using pencils, brushes and pens to capture flowers, foliage and trees in the environment.

Techniques: Making a concertina sketchbook from watercolour paper; organizing a page; capturing defining lines; mark-making; draw a series; colour and textures swatches

Supplies: 22X30” sheet of Arches (or similar) Cold press medium texture watercolour paper; pencils, pens, markers, crayons, watercolour box-set, brushes and waterbrush
