Brush drawing

Develop your observation drawing skills and simplify the natural world.

During the month of July and August, I plan to offer a series of LIVE “Plein Air” (painting outdoors) workshops where we meet in Vancouver Park locations in the lower mainland.

Session 1 - July 10th

Quick Studies

The emphasis will be to work at your studies quickly, responding to nature by looking and recording what you see.

Develop your observation drawing skills and simplify the natural world. Translate the complexities of nature into abstractions of a tree shape and form, find the patterns in shrubbery and foliage, the variety of colour in flowers. Pull it all together into a composition, using leading lines and the division of space within a landscape scene.
